The Duke of Edinburgh has passed away

It is sad to wake up to the news of the passing away of Duke of Edinburgh, the husband of Queen Elizabeth. He was treated in the hospital for a heart condition for over a month until he passed away at the palace this morning.

He was aged 99.

Tributes have been flowing in from gigantic numbers of people, including the Royal family, friends, and leaders around the globe, starting from prime minister Boris Johnson.

Duke of Edinburgh

Prince Philip was born into Danish and Greek royal families in Greece on 10 June 1921, he became a member of the royal family and the husband of Elizabeth 2 after he married her.

He was educated in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

He attended Gordonstoun school in Northeast Scotland. Before then, he attended Salem school in Germany and the boarding school in Moray until 1939.
In 1939, at the age of 18 years of age, he joined the navy which he felt almost reluctant to leave behind when he had the choice of moving into the palace with the queen.
His grandparents’ surname Mountbatten was the surname he chose, though he did not use it frequently.
After his wedding to Queen Elizabeth on 20 November 1947, he became the prince to Queen Elizabeth and was granted the style of His royal highness, Duke of Edinburgh.
They were both married for 73 years.

His other titles were Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich by King George V1.

In 1952, Elizabeth back then became queen of England in the year 1952 when Prince Philip left his career in the military. He stood by the side of the queen from day one and they loved each other.

He was a commander in the military before he was made a British prince in 1957.

Prince supported over 800 charities and attended over 20.000 solo royal engagements during his life. What a remarkable and tremendous life he lived!

He was known to always speak his mind as he proudly reminds people of his prowess as a military bred.

Duke of Edinburgh had four children

His children are prince Charles the prince of wales, his younger sister Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and the youngest of them, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

He will be missed by the Royal family and many people.

Rest in peace Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
