Prostrate cancer now kills men quicker than how breast cancer kills women. Today, a man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer. It is now the third biggest cancer killer disease in the U.K, not forgetting bowel and lung cancer, which are deadly also. You can have it for 10 years or more without knowing but it might be too late when you realise. how disheartening?

Every year, over 47.000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer which is equivalent to over 130 men each day. Over 11.819 men die from prostate yearly, while 11.442 women die of breast cancer each year. The statistics also show that 1 in 8 men will have prostate cancer in their life. The truth is that the figure is doubled in black men with one in four black men affected by prostate cancer. Source(NHS U.K and other medical links).

Is there any cure for prostate cancer?

Depending on the aggressive stage of cancer, and how far the disease has spread, men are offered various treatments which include, radiography, hormonal treatment, surgery or combinations of treatments. Treatments do have complications and side-effects, it is advisable to speak to your physician.

Some tablets can relax the muscles around the opening and bladder to help patient urinate.

I wish all men the best in life, please seek early medical checkup if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms or even if your father or brother had been diagnosed with prostate. Be safe!
